5 Benefits of an Outdoor Pizza Oven

Each addition to your outdoor kitchen is exciting, but an outdoor pizza oven will be what gets everyone talking. It's an outdoor kitchen appliance that can be used for just a date night at home or all your friends over for a party. No matter what your outdoor kitchen looks like, a pizza oven would make a great fit. So if you're wondering if an outdoor pizza oven is a good investment for your outdoor kitchen, here are five reasons you can't miss out.

1. Easy to use

An outdoor pizza oven is quite simple to use. It doesn't take any particular skill or learning! Simply preheat the pizza oven, create your favorite personal-sized pizza, and then slide it into the pizza oven to cook. An outdoor pizza oven works very similarly to other cooking appliances you have, so it's simple to add to your outdoor cooking routine!

Our gas-powered outdoor pizza ovens offer sleek and straightforward designs so you can get started cooking fast and keep your party rolling. But, of course, once you experience an outdoor pizza oven for the first time, you'll want to cook everything in it!

2. Make more than just pizza

Even though it's called an outdoor pizza oven, it is an oven that can cook almost anything. If you consider yourself a creative outdoor chef, then you'll love the flexibility a gas-powered outdoor pizza oven provides. From meats to bread to desserts, you can truly get creative with your outdoor pizza oven.

Some popular foods to cook in your outdoor pizza oven include steaks, pies, lambchops, and more! What makes an outdoor pizza oven so versatile is its gas burner technology. Pizza ovens are more advanced these days, which means you get more use. It doesn't matter if you choose a built-in or freestanding pizza oven either. Our outdoor pizza ovens are made with the best quality, allowing you to have more options when you cook.

3. A fun experience for everyone

Outdoor pizza ovens get everyone involved in dinner prep. Both young kids and adults will love making their personal pizzas with fresh toppings. Sliding each pizza into the outdoor pizza oven will be entertaining as well, especially if you have a pizza oven with gas-log flames. It's always exciting to see the finished pizza emerge from the heat. Finally, keep the pizza oven on to whip up a delicious dessert for your crew. Maybe dessert pizzas, cobbler, or a good old-fashioned pie.

You can take the fun with outdoor pizza ovens on the road with you too. You can find outdoor pizza ovens that work perfectly for tailgating or camping. Who says you can't have a delicious meat lover's pizza sitting by the campfire? You will make a lifetime of memories using your outdoor pizza oven, at home or away.

4. Fast cooking time

If you're new to outdoor pizza ovens, you might be surprised to know the quick cooking time involved. This fast cooking time is great news for those crowded backyard parties or busy weeknights when you need dinner fast. Outdoor pizza ovens use very high heat output that cooks your pizza, or any food, consistently and quickly.

These outdoor pizza ovens are also created with fast preheat times. It's just enough time to get your dough ready and add sauce, cheese, plus any desired topping. From there, you can have a delicious home-cooked pizza prepared in just a few minutes. So whether you're planning to relax outside all night or need a simple dinner cooked quickly, an outdoor pizza oven satisfies whatever need you have for the day.

5. It makes the best pizza

Saving the best benefit for last, simply put, an outdoor pizza oven makes the best pizza. There is truly no comparison with pizza you make at home. Your pizza creation from your outdoor pizza oven will rival your favorite pizzeria. How does this happen? First, it all starts with the ingredients. When you're making a homemade pizza, you're typically using fresh ingredients. Using quality ingredients will definitely impact the final product, but the technology of the pizza oven is what truly makes the pizza shine.

For example, the Alfresco 30" Built-In Outdoor Pizza oven offers 456 sq inches of cooking space with a 20,000 BTU high-heat ceramic infrared hearth burner. Your pizzas are cooked on a ¾" thick ceramic slab hearth, which makes for more even cooking and intense heat. This high-quality outdoor pizza oven might just beat out your favorite pizza restaurant!

5 Ways to Use Your Outdoor Gas Griddle

Whether you just added an outdoor gas griddle to your outdoor kitchen or you are considering if it's right for you, you're in for a treat. An outdoor gas griddle is one of the most versatile outdoor kitchen appliances and truly allows you to get your creative juices flowing. Need some tips to get started? We have five different ways to use your outdoor gas griddle to get more unique experiences in the backyard with family and friends, plus some of the top outdoor gas griddles. These are simple, delicious, and will be a crowd-pleaser all the time!

1. Breakfast for Dinner

When you find yourself in a recipe rut or just don't feel like preparing a big meal, where do you turn? A nice plate of pancakes and bacon is all you need. Like an indoor electric griddle, your outdoor bbq griddle can whip up some fantastic breakfast staples. If your outdoor griddle is large enough, you can grill the whole meal at once, pancakes, eggs, sausage, and bacon. Just don't forget the syrup, and you are set for a delicious breakfast, no matter the time of day.

2. Hibachi for a Crowd

Now's your chance to show off your hibachi chef skills and toss some shrimp to the crowd. In all seriousness, your outdoor gas griddle is a perfect way to grill smaller food that might not work well on your bbq grill. Chop some vegetables, dice up chicken and steak, add some shrimp, and everyone's favorite, fried rice. A delicious hibachi meal is a fun and unique way to experience your outdoor kitchen. It gets everyone involved, and the result is a filling and tasty dinner.

3. Gourmet Sandwiches

When we say grill up some sandwiches on your gas griddle, we aren't talking about your average weekday lunch options. An outdoor gas griddle allows you to get a perfectly grilled sandwich since there's even heat throughout the griddle. You can get fancy with a grilled cheese by adding unique spreads and ingredients or making an extra meaty sandwich with roast beef or steak. Pair it with a bagged salad or chips, and you have yourself an easy meal everyone enjoys.

4. Famous Smash Burgers

You can get one of the famous smash burgers at a fast-food restaurant, but why not make it in the comfort of your backyard?! Smash burgers require a flat top surface since the patties are smashed very thin while cooking. While smash burgers are unique takes on hamburgers already, there are many variations with toppings, seasonings, and sauces to make it even more custom to your liking. You'll perfect your smashing technique in no time and whip up everyone's favorite burger.

5. Fajita Fiesta

If you love the sizzle of fresh fajitas, then your outdoor gas griddle is your perfect cooking companion. Since the peppers, onions, and sliced meat can easily fall through the grates on a gas grill, it's the ideal meal for the outdoor gas griddle. All of that chopping will be worth it when you hear that sizzle and bite into your spicy creation. Fajitas is another meal that can be made all at once on your gas griddle, depending on its size. Your taco night just got an upgrade!

Top Outdoor Gas Griddles

When you're looking for an outdoor griddle, you have several options to choose from. You can select a built-in gas griddle that works perfectly if you're already designing an outdoor kitchen. There are also top-quality gas griddles on a cart that make it portable to move where you need it. You'll find many outdoor griddles on the market, but certain outdoor gas griddles stand out above the rest.

Perfect Grills for Condos & Apartments

Grilling delicious food with family and friends is a favorite pastime for many people, especially Floridians. You can still experience all the grilling fun while living in a condo or apartment. What’s the solution if you can’t use a gas or charcoal grill? A high-quality electric grill will meet your needs! At Outdoor Appliance Store, we have the best selection of electric grills for condos and apartments. Specifically, the Blaze electric grill is condo-friendly, plus gives impressive sear marks and excellent flavor to your meats. Before we dive into the Blaze electric grill, here’s what you need to know about electric grills.

Different Between Electric & Gas Grills

The most significant difference between electric and gas grills is the heat source. A gas grill will use natural gas or propane as a heat source. For electric grills, you just have to plug it in. Because of this, an electric grill can be used inside or outside, whereas you must use a gas grill in an open area outside. With electric grills, you usually won’t deal with flare-ups. Electric grills also have more evenly distributed heat than gas grills, leading to more consistent results in your grilling.

Electric grills are often smaller than gas grills too. This is good news if you live in a condo or apartment! The larger gas grills give it a more permanent placement, and electric grills can easily be moved around as needed. Finally, electric grills are a little easier to maintain than gas grills. The cleaning process is simple for electric grills with mainly just wiping down the parts. Gas grills require more heavy-duty cleaning and checking functions.

There’s no right or wrong answer between electric and gas grills, but it’s essential to see the differences to know what to expect. For those condo dwellers who only have electric grill options, know that you aren’t missing out on great quality grills and flavorful meats. The features of electric grills work very nicely with life in a condo or apartment.

Electric Grill Advantages

What are the pros of using an electric grill? For starters, it’s easy to use, especially if you are a beginner at grilling! You simply plug it in and turn the knobs to adjust the temperature. One of the significant advantages of electric grilling is the precise temperatures. You can easily reach and maintain the desired temperature for grilling.

When you live in an apartment or condo, you don’t always have abundant personal outdoor space. This makes an electric grill ideal because you can move it around quickly. If it’s just a small gathering at home, you can grill on your condo’s patio. If you have several friends over, easily move the electric grill to an outdoor common area.

Lastly, we mentioned it earlier, but it’s worth repeating the low maintenance of electric grills. Condos are tight on storage options, which means you need your appliances to have simple care procedures. Keeping your electric grill in top shape doesn’t require a lot of time or expertise.

Even though electric grills have their advantages, they are not all built the same. Trust us to find you the best quality electric grill for your condo!

Blaze Electric Grill

Blaze produces some great gas grills, so it’s only natural that we recommend their electric grill. Its sleek design, made with stainless steel, makes this grill look beautiful and built to last forever. The interior of the Blaze electric grill is top-notch and produces excellent flavor.

This grill features a lifetime warranty with a 3-year multi-user warranty. It’s also water-resistant, which is good news living in Florida! Getting those beautiful sear marks is what every grill master desires, and with the Blaze electric grill, the triangular stainless steel cooking rods make that possible.

The 1500 watt electric heating element in this Blaze grill reaches a surface temperature of 749 degrees. Thanks to the 16 GA flame tamers, that high heat is distributed evenly to provide the best possible flavor to whatever you grill. It even has a pull-out drip tray, making cleaning easy.

The Blaze electric grill is one of the best choices for a grill at a condo or apartment. It meets all the condo or HOA standards while still giving you a great grilling experience. The Blaze electric grill is available as a pedestal, built-in, or table-top model.

When you’re on the hunt for a perfect grill for condos, look no further than the Outdoor Appliance Store. Our team can help you find the best electric grill for your culinary needs. To learn more about the Blaze electric grills or our other electric grills, give us a call at (844) 305-0125 or chat live on our website. Why Buying a High-End Grill is Worth It

Buying a new grill can be an overwhelming experience, whether in a retail store or online. You have many options to choose from with high-end grills, but the price differences and grill features can often make it hard to differentiate. Grills may differ in price by a few hundred or a few thousand dollars, and it’s essential to understand what you’re paying the extra money for. You might be willing to pay more for the highest quality and most durable grill, but maybe it’s not worth it to pay for additional features that you won’t end up using. So what features should you look for when purchasing a high-end grill?

Higher Quality Interior

The grill’s physical appearance will catch your eye first, and you should care about your grill’s appearance! Keep in mind that for most low-end grills, this is the only chance for manufacturers to differentiate from their competition. While it’s important to find a grill that you find visually appealing, the most significant comparisons take place under the hood. One of the best reasons to purchase a high-end grill is the top-quality cooking grids and burners. There are other components to consider, of course, but cooking grids and burners are crucial. Here are some advantages to the different grids and burners.

Cooking grids:

The cast-iron cooking grids give superior sear marks and typically hold heat better than stainless steel cooking grids. They do have higher maintenance than stainless steel, though, and grates should be seasoned and oiled regularly.

Stainless steel cooking grids have a low risk of rust issues and are easier to maintain than cast iron. Although their sear marks aren’t quite as good as cast iron, they still give good sear marks.

The other cooking grid you’ll see is porcelain. You should avoid these due to the porcelain wearing off, which leads to rust. Choosing a grill with either a cast iron or stainless steel cooking grid is ideal.

Burners:

These are the ideal burners and what you’ll find in a high-end grill. Stainless steel burners will never rust, and prolonged exposure to heat/grease will not affect performance. Cast Stainless Steel burners are used in top-of-the-line grills like Fire Magic and a select few other brands.

Important Note: Just because a grill is labeled as ‘All Stainless Steel’ doesn’t mean that the grill’s interior is stainless steel. Most low-end grills will have a porcelain-coated interior that can wear off and lead to rust within the first year.

Iron burners are the other option you will see when purchasing a grill. These should be avoided because there is a higher chance of rust issues. You must clean iron burners regularly to prevent burners from rusting and leaving you with a grill you can’t light. If you’re unsure if the burner is made of iron, bring a magnet with you when shopping for grills. If it sticks to the burners, then it’s made of iron.

Extra Features

For the ultimate grill master, this is a big reason why you want to buy a high-end grill. Who wouldn’t want to have all the bells and whistles on a luxury grill? As you look at the different features available, consider the ones you believe you will get the most use out of. Here are some popular features of our high-end grills.

Rotisserie System

Cook a rotisserie chicken just like you see in the grocery stores. This system uses its own motor, which gives it heavy-duty power to cook some meat.

Infrared Sear Zones

Infrared sear zones heat up faster, cook quicker, and produce better tasting meat. It tastes like you made a restaurant-quality steak at home.

Smoker System

A dedicated smoker system in a high-end grill expands your grilling options. With its own dedicated burner and basket for smoking, you’ll be enjoying a nice smoked dinner in no time.

Bottom Line

When looking for a grill, remember to pay close attention to the interior of the grill. A grill may look nice on the outside, but you need to be sure it’s high quality on the inside, where it counts. Depending on cooking preferences, you should be looking for a grill with stainless steel burners and either cast iron or stainless grates. Cast iron grates will give more prominent grill marks than stainless ones but will require more maintenance. Luxury grills also produce many unique features that are worth it if grilling is essential to you.

When buying an outdoor grill, it can sometimes be worth spending the extra money on a higher-end grill. The high-quality stainless steel parts that go into these barbecues can make them last for years longer than their lower-end counterparts. Buying a cheap low-end barbecue could ultimately lead to you spending more money on replacement parts or another entire grill. When instead, you could buy a top-of-the-line stainless steel grill that lasts you for years with minimal issues.

Pellet grills are relatively new to the grilling industry and give the user necessary tools to be able to smoke whatever they like with the simple push of a button to control your grill temperature. Wood pellets use an auger to move the pellets from a hopper to a fire-pot that ignites the pellets creating a fire, then using a fan to create convection heat effect to evenly cook the food and add smoky flavor.

Napoleon Prestige, Weber Genesis 2, and Broil King Regal Grill Review

When it comes to entry-level freestanding cart grills Napoleon, Weber, and Broil King are clearly the leaders around the $1,200 to $1,500 price point. We go through the main offerings of these brands and review the Napoleon Prestige 500 grill, Weber Genesis 2 e610 grill, and the Broil King Regal s590 grill.

Napoleon Prestige 500 Grill

Napoleon is a well known grill brand at a great price. All Napoleon grills have a consistent ignition system, along with a great suite of accessories to complement the grills. The Napoleon Prestige model grills are manufactured in Canada. The Prestige grill is available with a rear infrared burner for the rotisserie, and on the Prestige 500 you have the option of adding the “sizzle zone” infrared burner which is great for searing steaks.

One of our favorite features of the grill is that when the side burner and ice bucket are not in use, the lid is flush with the grill giving you easy access to the side shelf area. A charcoal tray and smoker tube accessories let you add a smoky to the foods your grilling.

We also love Napoleon’s double walled hood which lifts effortlessly and traps the heat in for convection like cooking. The hood is hinged in the middle so when opened, it adds very little depth to the back of the grill making it easy to place anywhere on your patio. The Prestige has a very sleek look and is available with a stainless steel finish, black porcelain, or blue porcelain coated hood.

Napoleon Prestige grills have stainless steel tube burners that are ignited by their signature “Jet-fire” electronic ignition. The P500 comes with heavy duty stainless steel cooking grids that are patented with Napoleon’s “wave” design that creates distinct sear marks. To help distribute the heat evenly and minimize flare ups, Napoleon implements stainless steel sear plates that also preserve the burners.

The grill’s “sizzle-zone” or infrared sear burner as it’s formally known as, is a special feature on this model. The grate is easily adjustable which allows you to lower the grate closer to the burner for conventional style cooking with pots and pans. It also gives you the versatility to raise the grates higher for better surface to food contact to get those great restaurant style sear marks.

Warranty

The warranty on the Prestige series is what sets Napoleon a step above the competition. They really believe in this grill and back it with a lifetime warranty on the stainless steel exterior, cooking grids, and porcelain coated hood.

Napoleon also offers a 10 year + 5 year warranty on their burners and flame taming grids which means replacement parts are half off of list price for 5 more years after the 10 year warranty expires.

Weber Genesis II E-610 Grill

Weber is a historical grill brand with exceptional quality at a fair price. The Genesis II model is available in stainless steel, black, smoke, crimson, and copper. Weber Genesis gas grills are some of the most popular grills in the entire world. The Genesis II series grills are well constructed at a good price.

We love the different color options Weber offers and that they are available in the 2, 3, 4, or 6 burner models. The open cart design with the bottom shelf feature makes for convenient storage access.

The Genesis II also provides you with extra storage space with the propane tank storage that is under the side shelf. The tank kit comes standard with a fuel level gauge so you know when you are getting low on propane.

Historically Proven

The proven Weber Cooking System is excellent at distributing heat evenly and reducing flare-ups. The porcelain-coated cast-iron cooking grids on the Genesis II have notches cut in the front so you can easily see if each burner is ignited. A nice feature on this grill is the warming rack which easily stores away to offer an extra 198” of grilling space when need be. Under the cooking grates, we have the triangular-shaped “Flavorizer Bars” that are positioned directly above the burners. These protect the burners by turning the drippings from the food into smoke allow great flavor to seep back into your food.

Weber created the “Flavorizer Bar” in 1984, and have continued to prove that these are ideal for minimizing flare-ups on all Weber gas grills still to this day! The stainless steel burners featured in the Genesis II are narrower closer to the back of the grill. The majority of grills are typically hotter towards the back of the grill. That being said, the Weber burners are very efficient at reducing this heat and distributing the heat very evenly across the grilling surface.

The burners are ignited by a consistent electronic push button and each burner produces an impressive 12,000 BTU’s.Weber Grills have been in business very over 50 years and the customer service is next to none. They offer a 10 year warranty on the the grill exterior and on the burners.

They have outstanding service and will handle any service or replacement part situations in a timely manner. In our opinion, one of the biggest improvements Weber could make on their Genesis II model is the low BTU output. Other grills at this price point get much hotter and have the ability to sear.

In addition, the porcelain finished cooking grids and “Flavorizer Bars” are not as heavy-duty in comparison to the stainless steel components on other brands.

The Genesis II is a great choice if you love the Weber Grill brand, sleek look, and cost effective price.

Broil King Regal S590 Grill

The proven Weber Cooking System is excellent at distributing heat evenly and reducing flare-ups. The porcelain-coated cast-iron cooking grids on the Genesis II have notches cut in the front so you can easily see if each burner is ignited. A nice feature on this grill is the warming rack which easily stores away to offer an extra 198” of grilling space when need be.

The Genesis II is a great choice if you love the Weber Grill brand, sleek look, and cost effective price.

Cook Boxes

We love the stainless steel cook box with cast aluminum end caps from a durability standpoint and that it’s covered by a lifetime warranty.

The Regal XLS features two separate stainless steel cook boxes which allows you to sear in one oven, while cooking more delicate foods at a lower temperature in the other oven.

Something to keep in mind is that while we love that the cook box is backed by a lifetime warranty, the rest of the grill components have a lower warranty than some of the other competition.

Also, Broil king does not offer a ceramic infrared sear burner at this time. This grill is an ideal choice if you want a grill made here in the USA with premium features at an affordable price.

Bottom Line

In our opinion, the Napoleon takes the slight edge over the Weber and Broil King grills. It comes with better features and warranties on all parts. We also love the design of the Napoleon grills compared to the aesthetics of the Weber and Broil King.

That being said, you really can’t go wrong with any of these grills. At the end of the day it’s going to come down to reach brand you feel comfortable with and what features matter most to you.

Choosing a Grill: Gas Grill Burners Overview

When shopping for a new gas grill one of the most important features to look at is what type of burners the grill has. The grill burner is going to be responsible for how hot the grill is able to get and to a certain extent the heat distribution (or how evenly the grill cooks). A common misconception in the grill industry is that higher BTU’s are always better, but this isn’t always the case though. Aside from BTU’s there are many factors involved with cooking performance such as the heat distribution system and size of the grilling surface.

Stainless Steel Burners

Cast stainless steel burners are the best for resisting rust out of all stainless grill burners. Also, with the cast stainless being thicker than standard stainless burners these cast burners absorb and distribute heat evenly.

    Cast Stainless Steel Burners

Cast stainless steel burners are the best for resisting rust out of all stainless grill burners. Also, with the cast stainless being thicker than standard stainless burners these cast burners absorb and distribute heat evenly.

    Stainless Tube Burner

Solid rust resistance depending on the grade of stainless steel used. The highest quality of these burners is 304-grade stainless steel. Commonly found as either a straight-tube burner, there are also some brands that bend these tubes into a U-shape for better coverage of the cooking surface.

    Infrared Burner

These fuel-efficient burners have become increasingly popular over the last few years. Used for reaching high temperatures quickly and efficiently, an infrared burner will sear a restaurant-quality steak for you in minutes. Due to the high temperatures we usually recommend pairing an infrared burner with standard burners for more cooking versatility.

Brands: AlfrescoArtisanBlaze, DCS, Twin EaglesDelta Heat

    Cast Iron Burners

Cast iron burners have been around for years and have largely been replaced by cast stainless steel burners. Heavy-duty burners, but they have the potential to rust if not properly cared for.

    Ceramic Burners

Ceramic burners will never rust and are able to efficiently distribute high temperatures. The downside to these burners is that they are much more fragile than your stainless steel burners.

    Stamped Stainless Steel

Low grade stainless stamped together at the top and bottom, not 304 stainless steel.

How To replace A Stock Burner With An Infrared Sear Burner

    1. To change your conventional burner with an infrared rear burner, start by taking out the far left cooking grate, flame tamer, and heat zone divider. Once these components are out of the grill, you can remove the standard burner.

    2. To do this, start by removing the metal fastener that keeps the burner in place. Usually, you can remove this with your fingers but you may need to use a pair of needle nose pliers. Once you have the metal fastener removed, the burner will come out easily.

    3. The next step is to remove the crossover bar. You will need a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screw that holds the bar in place.

    4. Once you have removed this, the infrared burner slides easily in place. The crossover bar and flame tamer will no longer be needed while using the infrared burner. Simply place the heat zone divider and cooking grate back in the grill and you’re ready for searing!

An infrared burner provides more intense heat compared to a standard burner and will reach searing temperatures much quicker. The great thing about having the infrared burner on your Blaze grill is that it gives you the versatility to sear foods on the infrared burner while grilling vegetables or fish on med-low temperatures at the same time.

    Infrared Grill Buying Guide

    What is an Infrared Grill?

“Infrared cooking systems heat the food directly and not the air around it”

While standard burners in gas grills heat the air up around the food in a convection effect to cook food, which can lead to your food ending up dried out. Infrared burners don’t disturb the moisture barrier between the food your cooking and the grill, resulting in a much better retention of your foods natural juices.

While this may sound like the most superior cooking system hands down. You want to keep in mind that while grilling you’re not going to be searing everything you put on the grill. With this in mind, if your set on an infrared cooking system in your grill we recommend a combination of infrared burner and standard burners. This will give you maximum versatility when cooking on your grill.

    Benefits of an Infrared Burner

        • Preheats Quickly and Cooks Faster Infrared burners take about 3-5 minutes to reach temperature on high. Infrared burners heat the food directly and not the air around it. This results in food cooking faster and retaining moisture better compared to standard burners when searing.
        • Superior Heat Distribution Again since infrared burners heat the food directly and not the surrounding air, they do a better job of evenly cooking the food on the grill.
        • Steakhouse Quality Sear Marks The high heat the infrared burners produce, result in restaurant-quality sear marks on whatever food you may be searing, especially steaks.
        • Fuel Efficient Infrared burners use less fuel to reach the same temperature as a standard burner. Since they cook food faster as well you get the double advantage of faster pre-heating and faster cooking which overall reduces the amount of fuel used compared to a standard grill burner.
        • Minimal Flare-ups and Easy to Clean The high heat of these burners will burn off any grease, oil, or fat that happens to drip down onto the burner minimizing flare-ups. When done cooking, turn the burner up to high to burn off any food particles that may have fallen through the grates and turn them to ash.

    Our Infrared Grill Recommendation

While there are some full infrared grills on the market that might not be a bad buy for a grill necessarily, we recommend going with a hybrid system of both infrared and standard burners on your grill. This is the most versatile set-up you can have for your grill giving you the ability to cook low and slow on a normal burner or sear foods at high temperatures on your infrared burner.

Almost all grill brands that we carry have the option to either upgrade to one infrared sear burner on the grill or to purchase the infrared burner separately and replace one of the standard burners.

Another very popular option is a side searing station, whether it’s mounted on the side of the grill cart or built-in directly next to your grill in an outdoor kitchen island.

Want to know if the grill you’re looking at has an available infrared upgrade? Give us a call: 844-305-0125 or reach out on our live chat.

Blaze Standard and LTE Grill Review

The Standard Blaze Grill has exceptional value and quality. Including Durable components like the commercial-grade cast stainless steel burners. The Blaze grill is a backyard performer that comes with a lifetime warranty!

    Features We Love

Blaze had one basic innovation in mind when they started producing grills – Extract the greatest characteristics of all the grills that have been tried-and-true and forget about the rest. This without a doubt displays the excellence of the grills they build today.

Blaze Grills are fabricated with 304-grade stainless steel, which is industrial-strength and provides superb rust protection. You will be very impressed with the heavy-duty cast stainless steel burners. Typically, cast stainless steel burners are only implemented in the premium, higher-end gas grills. Using cast stainless substantially increases the longevity of the burners when compared with welded tube burners from competing brands.

The heat zone separators give you the ability to cook different foods at the same time on different temperatures. That being said, if you’re cooking something that covers the entire grill surface, make sure to take out the separators so the food cooks evenly. Furthermore, Blaze grills are constructed with a double-lined hood which prevents the hood from discoloring because of the intense heat and also helps keep the heat inside the grill. The Stainless Steel flame-tamers are perforated to allow better air-flow to the burners beneath, even heat distribution, and to burn off any grease that may drip down.

If looking to add to the capabilities of the grill, Blaze has several quality options, encompassing an infrared burner for searing, rotisserie kit, and smoker boxBlaze honors a lifetime warranty on the cast stainless steel burners, cooking grates, and all stainless steel components, as well as the flame tamers. They are one of the few grill companies to have that great of a warranty in the industry.

    Things to Consider:

Although there is much to love about this grill, it is a straightforward grill. It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles that some of the more high-end grills have (LED knobs, interior lighting, etc). With that being said, if that’s something you want, the Blaze LTE has all of the same impressive features as the Blaze gas grill, plus flashy LED lighting on the knobs, interior lighting for grilling in the dark, and upgraded triangular shaped cooking grates that make an excellent surface for cooking that produces restaurant-quality sear marks.

    You’ll Love This Grill If:

You want a cost-effective grill that is built with great workmanship and provides features found only on the more high end, expensive gas grills.

    Fire Magic Echelon BBQ Grill

Fire Magic, a subsidiary of RH Peterson, has been around for 75 years and has a long tradition 100% all American made high quality products. They have a great track record and stand behind their product. The Fire Magic Echelon Grill is their top of the line luxury grill. The Fire Magic Echelon BBQ is equipped with powerful 23,000 BTU stainless burners, a spring assisted double walled hood, a removable warming rack, a 12 volt electric hot surface ignition. The grill hood and body of this grill are larger than most normal grills to allow for air circulation for a better convection effect while cooking.

10 reasons we love the Fire Magic Echelon Grill.

    1. The Fire Magic Echelon Grill E660 is 30 inches wide by 21” deep on the interior—that is the actual cooking surface. Some grill manufacturers measure there cooking space on the exterior which means the Fire magic 30 inch grill may be larger than many 34 or 36 inch by other manufacturers.  Sizes available are 24”, 30”, 36”, and 48”

     2. All of the grids are stainless steel—304 grade so they won’t rust. They are flat on top so that you get thicker sear marks on your food.

    3. The flavor grids, which are the plates under the grids and above the burners are engineered with 16 gauge perforated steel which help keep grease away from the burners and help with even heat distribution.

    4. There are 3 different heat zones and each zone is separated by heat dividers. This gives you the flexibility to cook different food at different temperatures at the same time. The back-burner is made of stainless steel foam and distributes a great amount of heat evenly for a great rotisserie option.

    5. The cast burners are ‘E” shaped which means they have more burner ports than others. They are ¼’ thick cast stainless steel and come with a lifetime warranty.

    6. Has a hot surface ignition but also is a back up with the small tube in the back. (put a lighter in it)

7.Each burner weighs  11 ½ pounds—built for longevity. and produce 78000 BTU’s of heat combined. Rotisserie produces 11000 BTU’s. This grill gets hot and stays hot!

    8. The grill can be equipped with a great line of accessories: charcoal smoker basket are included with all Echelon grills for no additional charge, griddle pans, cast iron griddle pans, baskets, etc are just a few of the accessories.  An infrared burner can be factory installed at no additional cost.

    9. We love the blue back lit knobs and the optional magic view window.

    10. Fire Magic has a great warranty program and is always quick to service their grills. There is a lifetime warranty on the cast stainless steel burners, stainless steel rod cooking grids and stainless steel housing. They pay for the first year labor allowance and ship replacement parts for free. They have qualified technical service representatives available 10 hours a day 5 days a week to answer your questions.

    Twin Eagles C-Series BBQ Grills

Twin Eagles Inc. takes pride in being a US company that produces high-quality grills and outdoor equipment out of California. They are engineered for performance and style, with the customer in mind in order to create an outdoor kitchen that is everything you want it to be. All of their products are made and designed to match each other with sleek high quality 304 grade stainless steel construction. Sizes for the Twin Eagles C-Series BBQ grills start off with a 30’’ model, and then go up to 36’’, 42”, and 54’’. They also have a variety of outdoor appliances ranging from access doors and drawers, side burners, even heaters. If you are looking for a one-stop-shop brand, Twin Eagles may be for you.

One thing that makes these grills unique is their 5 part Propriety Grilling System that takes cooking on a Twin Eagles grill to a whole new level. Here is a break down of this system:

    DRAFTING

When you ignite the burners, heat rises and creates drafting which draws clean cool air through vents located at the bottom of the firebox.

    ;RESULT
    • Keeps the heat above the burners, accelerating its movement to the cooking surface.
    • Air/gas mixture remains constant for a more efficient flame.
    • Eliminates stress to the burners from heat, the number one cause of burner fatigue.

    DIRECT HEAT

Other grill systems operate solely off the principle that heat rises, which can create hot and/or cold spots. Heat will also follow the path of least resistance. Our exclusive system uses briquette trays with channels that direct heat systematically.

As the heat is pushed upward, it passes through ports located between the ceramic briquettes.

    RESULT
    • Supplies the intense heat preferred for searing and grilling.
    • Preheats your grill faster.
    • Minimizes gas use.

    RADIANT HEAT

High-grade ceramic briquettes distribute radiant heat evenly to the cooking surface, essential for consistent grilling.

Part of the preheating process involves bringing the ceramic briquettes to temperature. Absorbing heat into the bottom of the briquettes and transferring it out the top takes time and uses gas. Instead of relying solely on absorbing heat into the bottom of the briquettes, the Twin Eagles system also absorbs heat into the sides and tops of the briquettes from channels located between the rows of briquettes.

    RESULT
    • Briquettes reach temperature in a fraction of the time using less gas.
    • Even distribution of heat.

    ZONE GRILLING

The Twin Eagles grill allows you to cook multiple food items at different temperatures. A divider between each burner breaks the grilling surface into zones. You can operate all zones at the same temperature level or control each zone temperature independently.

Zone grilling also permits you to grill one or two items efficiently and effectively with only one burner operating. Since drafting pushes the heat upward, it’s concentrated in one zone and will not spread throughout the firebox.

    RESULT
    • Lets you effectively operate one zone only for small volume grilling.
    • Allows you to operate all zones at one temperature level or control the temperature of each zone independently to grill a variety of foods at once.

    HEXAGONAL GRATES

Grates on most grills serve one purpose: to hold your food. Twin Eagles grates actually aid in the grilling process by absorbing, retaining and conducting heat into your food. The thicker or heavier the grate, the more heat it will absorb and retain.

We use 3/8 inch hexagonal stainless steel rods in our grates. They offer over 20% more mass than most grates and 10% more mass than 3/8 inch round rods. The increased mass retains more heat.

The flat surface of the hexagon rods creates more food-to-surface contact over round grates, allowing more heat to be conducted into your food.

    RESULT
    • Food cooks more evenly.
    • Creates deeper and thicker restaurant-style sear marks.

DCS Series 7 and 9 Gas Grills Review

DCS Appliances retain a strong reputation among professional chefs and home cooks alike because of their past experience providing commercial grade appliances for the restaurant industry.

DCS, which stands for Dynamic Cooking Systems, continued their innovation by bringing commercial grade appliances into the home kitchen.

Recently, the company brought its brand outdoors by pioneering the first high-end outdoor grill and continues to shine as the gold standard for high-end grilling.

DCS Appliances by Fisher & Paykel

Fisher & Paykel began in New Zealand in the 1930s when Olive Paykel asked her husband to get her a refrigerator, a new appliance that she saw in the American Ladies’ Home Journal. Olive’s son, Maurice Paykel, and son-in-law, Woolf Fisher, began importing appliances from the U.S.

Their business grew steadily until the New Zealand government banned the import of manufactured products. At this moment in time, Fisher and Paykel began to import parts and build their own appliances. The two paved the way for appliance innovation with the creation of the first dishwasher.

As a company,  Fisher & Paykel have continued to incorporate excellent performance with user-driven needs as they create new high-end appliances. Since the 1980s, the DCS, or Dynamic Cooking Systems, branch of Fisher & Paykel, has passionately created indoor and outdoor kitchen appliances with the goal of being the most technically advanced, efficient, and stylish pieces on the market.

      DCS Series 9 Grill

The new DCS Evolution Series 9 Grill offers consumers the full outdoor cooking experience that includes style, intelligence, and strength. New features cater to multiple cooking styles.

For example, the secondary cooking area serves as a place to cook sauces or keep things warm after searing. The Series 9 Grill has a functional design with the power that a professional chef demands. These hand-finished grills are built to withstand heavy use during all seasons.

DCS Evolution Series 9 Grills may be built-in or freestanding. Their heavy-duty performance includes high-end features such as 12-volt lighting under the hood and bezel lighting on the dial, removing the challenge from nighttime grilling.

Series 9 grills also include an infrared rotisserie burner that heats up to 18,000 BTU depending on which grill size you choose, and a charcoal smoker tray that allows you to cook directly on the grate or add wood chips for more smoke.

      DCS Series 7 Grill

DCS Grills are powered by 304-grade stainless burners that can range from 300°F to 1,100 °F. The team at DCS tests each burner at the factory, but there is still a low flame setting for manual adjustment if the grill’s temperature gets too hot or not hot enough. Like the Series 9 grills, the Series 7 grills provide an even surface with ceramic rods below the grates that also reduce flames and a rotisserie that holds up to 50 lbs. of food.

One of the best features of DCS grills is their patented Grease Management System. One side of the cooking grates are curved for delicate foods such as veggies or fish, and the other side has grooves that guide the grease away from the food and into a grease tray, making for easy clean-up.

      Differences In These Models

The DCS Evolution Series 9 and Series 7 gas grills offer high-end outdoor cooking experiences, but they have some differences that may make one more attractive for your needs. As previously mentioned, the Series 9 grills have a charcoal smoker tray for indirect and direct cooking. The DCS Series 7 has a built-in smoker box with a dedicated burner for indirect cooking that adds a great smoky flavor to your food.

Another difference between the two models is lighting. Series 9 grills offer impressive stadium lighting while the Series 7 offers a halogen under-the-hood light that illuminates the grilling surface, but not much more.  Additionally, Series 7 grills do not have the secondary cooking space found on Series 9 models.

      Why Choose DCS Gas Grills?

      High quality, hand-finished construction.

Innovative solutions such as the Grease Management System.

Assembled by hand from heavy duty 304 stainless steel making it weatherproof.

Under-the-hood grill lighting for nighttime grilling.

Double-sided stainless steel grates for easy cleaning.

U-shaped stainless steel burners rated at 25,000 BTU for the perfect sear.

Lifetime warranties that are one of the best in the industry.

      For Real Customers

DCS Appliances boasts that they “create real products for real people living real lives,” which is evident by their high-quality offerings that withstand heavy use and Mother Nature, making their grills functional and durable. Additionally, they offer one of the best warranties which include two years of coverage for parts and labor and a lifetime warranty on burners, grates, racks, and the burner box.

The Evolution Series 9 and Series 7 models are top-of-the-line luxury grills. Their contemporary style, easy-open hoods, patented Grease Management System, under-the-hood lighting, and smoker boxes set them apart from much of their competition.

Additionally, cook for large crowds with their durable infrared rotisserie burners that hold up to 50 lbs. of food.

If you are a serious home cook or you like to entertain regularly, choose a DCS grill for an authentic outdoor cooking experience that will rival any commercial restaurant experience. You can complete your outdoor dream kitchen with other DCS products such as refrigerators, beer dispensers, and ice makers.

DCS Appliances also offer storage options that include drawers and doors and you can warm your outdoor kitchen with a DCS patio heater on a chilly night.

Where Do You Find DCS Gas Grills?

You won’t find DCS Gas Grills at your favorite big box retailer or home improvement store. You will only find them at places that specialize in outfitting and building outdoor kitchens.

      Viking Professional Outdoor Gas Grills

Most folks know the name Viking from its excellent reputation in the kitchens of professional chefs the world over, but many people are surprised to learn that Viking also makes some of the very best professional-grade outdoor gas grills on the market today. In fact, they’ve been in the outdoor grilling game for a little more than two decades, and in that time, they’ve established themselves as one of the top manufacturers of outdoor grills and outdoor kitchen appliances available today. Few — if any — gas grill manufacturers can compete with the quality of a Viking gas grill, which is why anybody who’s serious about outdoor cooking doesn’t consider their outdoor kitchen complete without one!

      Why Viking?

Viking is a well-known and trusted name in the restaurant business. They’ve been around since the 1980s when Fred Carl, Jr. conceived the idea for the very first Viking range for the home he was building for his family. As the saying goes, necessity is the mother of invention, and Carl managed to persuade a small company in Southern California to help design and manufacture the very first Viking range. The first Viking ranges (apart from Carl’s prototype, of course) shipped in 1987 and due to the incredible consumer response, the small company was quickly overwhelmed by orders. That’s when production moved to Greenwood, Mississippi, where the majority of Viking’s products are still made today. In 2012, Viking became part of The Middleby Corporation, a global leader in the commercial food service equipment industry.

        Exploring Your Options

If you’re designing an outdoor kitchen oasis, you’ll definitely want to consider a built-in Viking gas grill, but if you’re just looking to replace your cart-style (freestanding) gas grill, Viking’s got those, too. Take the outdoor series 5 by Viking. It’s available in 30″, 36″, 42″ and 54″ freestanding models, and it’s got all of the outstanding features that really good barbecue aficionados want and need …

          • Solid cast brass burners
          • Ceramic Radiant Briquettes for eccellent heat retention
          • A control panel equiped with blue LED lights and halogen lighting inside the cover for night grilling convenience
          • Heavy-duty dual position 3-speed rotisserie
          • A smoker box for that great smokey flavor you’re after
          • Heavy-duty stainless steel cooking grates
          • Weather-proof stainless steel cart has 2 heavy swing-out doors with magnetic latches
          • Interior equipped with shelves for condiments
          • Commercial grade casters for durability and ease of moving when needed
          • Viking’s proprietary ProSear2 infrared burner for a high, intense heat that ensures a nice sear every time

What Makes Viking Gas Grills Superior?

Professional quality appliances (including gas grills) are built to last and must perform consistently, which is why you’ll find Viking products in the kitchens of the best restaurants in the country. In addition to using the finest grade materials, Viking has a reputation to maintain, as well as a philosophy geared toward constant improvements in performance and efficiency. Their dedication to innovation and the development of new and better technologies is one of the reasons that Viking stays at the top of their game in a very competitive marketplace.

        Limited Lifetime Warranty

Not many manufacturers offer a limited lifetime warranty on their gas grills. After all, gas grills are outdoor products and are therefore subject to the elements, even when well cared for. But that’s just what you get from Viking — a limited lifetime warranty on the Series 5’s stainless steel body housing, solid brass grill burners, and the ProSear burners! The structural integrity of the interior grill parts, exterior, and drip pans are covered by an exceptional 5-year limited warranty as well. You’ve got to be supremely confident in the quality of your product to offer such superior protection!

        Built-Ins Available for Outdoor Kitchens

If you, like many Americans, have decided to invest in a bona fide outdoor kitchen, you’ll never be sorry if you opt to make it not just any outdoor kitchen, but a Viking outdoor kitchen!

The series 5 from Viking is also available as a built-in for your outdoor kitchen (all sizes), along with complementary pieces like a Viking Warming Drawer, 13″ Double Side Burners or a 20″ Power Burner. As you can see, a Viking outdoor kitchen can easily accommodate a feast for a crowd! (Add a Viking outdoor refrigerator and a vent hood for a complete — and totally enviable — Viking outdoor kitchen.)

Once Available Only to the Pros

Let’s face it, few of us are professional chefs, but that doesn’t mean we don’t love cooking up a storm  and honing our barbecuing skills on the very best equipment available. Luckily, Viking has expanded its reach from strictly commercial equipment to professional-grade residential ranges, hoods, refrigerators, and yes — gas grills!

You won’t find a Viking gas grill at your local hardware or big-box store, however. To get the best, you’ve got to shop with a company who specializes in barbecue equipment — a company like The Outdoor Appliance Store, for instance!

        Allow us to Introduce Ourselves

        Alfresco Gas Grill ALXE Series

        Alfresco Gas Grill Overview

The Alfresco ALXE grill is a restaurant inspired, premium gas grill.  It has a very sleek look with LED lights, spring-assist hood, top-notch performance/versatility, and made right here in the USA.

        Features We Love:

The ALXE series is extremely versatile and offers a beyond exceptional cooking experience. It all begins with their  18-SR stainless steel main burners which produce an astounding 82,500 BTUs. These burners deliver optimal performance thanks to airtight construction of the grill’s firebox and the infrared sear burner option that gets up to 1600 degrees F!

This grill features ceramic briquettes that sit above the stainless steel burners, which are designed to utilize very even heat distribution, no matter what temperature you’re cooking at. The briquette trays are fastened securely into place. The nice thing about the briquettes is that they require very little maintenance – just turn the grill on high and flip the trays over (close the lid for about 20 min). This will burn all the grease and debris off of the briquettes. The smoker box is one the features that really sets Alfresco apart from their competitors. It is integrated and is powered by it’s own, dedicated 5000 BTU burner! This is perfect for infusing great flavors into your food ( charcoal, wood pellets, wine, etc).

The Alfresco ALXE’s rotisserie motor is Alfresco’s most impressive feature. It is completely integrated and concealed from view. The chain driven rod can hold up to 120 lbs allowing you to roast just about any kind of meat you can think of.

It features 304 polished, stainless steel and Amber LED lights on the knobs. These knobs will always be cool to the touch thanks to state-of-the-art air cooled front control panel. This USA made grill is aesthetically pleasing and has all the multifaceted features you could possibly need for an optimal grilling experience.
Alfresco is one of our top recommendations for premium grills. They offer a lifetime warranty on all of the stainless steel components as well as the burners. They also offer a “Freedom Warranty” which insures they finance all parts and repairs for two years!

        Things to consider:

The Alfresco gas grill’s sear zone yields an incredible amount of heat. The only downside is that it doesn’t provide much of a low temperature setting when cooking more delicate foods. Keep in mind when purchasing that this grill will get plenty hot enough to sear, even without purchasing the infrared sear burner option.

The Alfresco gas grill is perfect for you if:

You want a state-of-the-art, commercial quality grill that is built for optimal performance and will last a lifetime.

Getting Started on Your New Gas Grill

You’ve received your new gas grill, and want to get going right away. To avoid some common mistakes when breaking in a new grill, please take a few extra minutes to read this article before getting started (we know how excited you are!)

        Gas Grill Set-up

Not only should you read the owner’s manual, but also make sure that you keep it in a safe place. In the future if you need to contact the manufacturer for customer support or warranty work they’ll need the serial number of your grill which is most of the time located in the owner’s manual as well as on the grill itself somewhere.

Also, if your new to this particular grill brand you’ll want to read the owner’s manual to familiarize yourself with all that grill’s features. Just because you were comfortable using your previous grill doesn’t mean you’ll be able to jump right into a new grill.

        Fuel hook-up

Once you have the grill fully assembled, you’ll need to get the fuel hooked up. If you didn’t purchase a propane tank or already have a natural gas line run to where the grill is located, you’ll need to address that before your able to get going on the grill. Most gas stations and hardware stores will have propane tanks available for purchase. If your house is already running on natural gas or in-ground propane tank, you’ll need to contact a local licensed gas installer to run a gas line to your preferred grill location.

        Prepping Your Grates

Seasoning, or oiling prevents rust from forming on your grill grates and makes them easier to clean.

          Safety Tip

Propane tanks should always be stored outside. If you move the grill into a garage or shed, the tank should to stay outside.

          Lighting The Grill

Once the propane is connected and the tank valve is open, it’s time to light the grill.

          1. Make sure that the grill lid is open. The gas could build-up and blow up the lid… you don’t want that.
          2. When igniting your new gas grill for the first time consult your owner’s manual, gas grills all have their own specific type of ignition systems and may not be the same as the last grill you had.

What If My Gas Grill Doesn’t Light?

Most modern gas grills have a “manual lighting hole” for this reason, and some even include a match holder attached to the grill (it looks like a long wand with a curlicue on the end). Find the hole — it may be on the side of the grill. Light the burner closest to the hole and carefully insert a lit match, preferably a long match or attached to the grill’s match holder. The burner should light right away.

          Tips For Gas Grilling

Season your grates prior to use with cooking oil. This is helpful for a number of reasons:

          1. Prevents rust from forming on the grates
          2. Makes the grates easier to clean after each use
          3. Food is less likely to stick to properly seasoned grates.

Get the grill up to temp. Gas grills may be easier to start than a charcoal grill but they still require sufficient time to pre-heat before putting food on the grill. This could take anywhere from 5-15 minutes depending on the brand of grill and what type of burner it is (standard or infrared).

Clean your grill after the first time you use it. You might not have to and probably don’t want to after using it for the first time, but this will help get you in the habit of properly maintaining your grill. You’ll run into way less issues in the long run by cleaning and caring for your grill regularly and not just when entertaining guests.

Kamado Grill Comparison – Big Green Egg, Primo, Broil King, and Blaze

New to kamado charcoal grills? take a look at Kamado Grill 101 for an introduction to charcoal grilling on a kamado-style grill.
Kamado grills offer a versatile cooking experience that brings in a different take on charcoal cooking.  Big Green Egg, Primo Grills, Broil King Keg, and Blaze Kamado grill are our most popular kamado brands. In the past couple of years interest in this style of grilling has been increasing, with that the competition of brands offering their own version of a kamado grill has picked up as well.

          The History

The history of the grill is one that dates back to China about 3000 years. The design of the round dome cooking system evolved and changed throughout time. The Japanese soon evolved their version of the cooking system with added a damper and draft door for heat control. The name of their system was “mushikamado”. Which was later introduced to America after World War 2, where it adopted the name of “kamado”.
Nowadays the modern Kamado grills are traditionally made out of ceramics. One advantage is the heat retention it provides. The dome design helps with heat circulation, which is what gives these grills an advantage over traditional charcoal grills. You are able to cook a pizza, bake bread, smoke some BBQ, and of course, grill that perfect steak and then some. When it comes to flavor, you can’t beat it. Unlike most other charcoal grills these grills use natural lump charcoal which gives you that great smoky flavor, unlike using those “ready to light” briquettes which usually have some additives in them to help with the lighting process. Most times those additives will leave an aftertaste left on your food.
Now that you know why kamado grills are superior to your standard charcoal grill, we’ll take a look some of the most popular kamado grills available on the market today. As we compare brands and try to find the best kamado grill for your needs keep in mind what features are most important to you. Often people will ask “what is the best kamado grill?”, as more brands come out with their own version of what they think will be the best kamado grill each has different problems that they try to solve. For example, the Blaze kamado grill is the only one on our list made out of cast aluminum, which makes it by the far the most durable of all our kamado grills. Which means if durability is the most important factor to you then the Blaze would your best kamado choice.

By far the most popular since it has been around since 1974. The egg is built with a ceramic outer shell which helps with heat retention.

Premium Gas Grill Comparison: Sizing up the Leaders in the grill industry.

AlfrescoLynx, & Twin Eagles are three of the best grills available on the market & have similar features.

          Burners and Warranty Info

✔  Alfresco & Twin Eagles implement a Stainless Steel U-Shaped Burner that have a limited lifetime warranty against defects. Lynx has now re-designed their burner to be ceramic. The reason being that ceramic burners can potentially distribute the heat more evenly, the downside with this type of burner is that they are prone to cracking over time. We are curious to see if they will continue to honor the lifetime warranty on the burners. These grill companies will not stand behind the lifetime warranty if the burners are misused or abused. To avoid voiding the lifetime warranty on the burners, we recommend cleaning them 2-3 times a year.

          Ignition Systems

All three grills use electricity to power their igniters. These are more reliable than the battery-operated igniters you see in the older/cheaper grills, they won’t get corroded.

✔  Twin Eagles & Lynx uses a glow system that heats a round tube, which then glows orange and ignites the burner.

✔  Alfresco uses a spark electrode system which we find makes for better consistency lighting the grill.

          Heat Distribution and Cooking Grates

All three grills use ceramic briquettes for the heat distribution system. We prefer briquettes over the standard traditional burners; they retain heat more efficiently, which distributes the heat more evenly (uses less fuel).

✔  Alfresco & Lynx’s cooking grates are made of heavy-duty, round stainless steel rods.

✔  Twin Eagles rods are unique because they are thick, heavy-duty 3/8″ hexagonal grates. The shape of these grates create more mass than traditional round rod grates. These hexagonal grates feature a flat side which allows for a greater food to surface contact. In other words this cooks the food more evenly and allows more heat to reach the food.

✔  The rotisserie motor is the feature that sets Alfresco & Twin Eagles above the competition. It is integrated into the firebox and features a chain driven design for consistent rotation of the spit rod. The major benefits are that it eliminates a bulky exterior rotisserie motor and the inconvenience of having to store the rod and motor when not in use.

✔  The Twin Eagles grill features a convenient storage location in the grills drip tray handle for the spit rod.

Summer Grilling Season Is Almost here!

It may only be the beginning of April, but summer will be here before you know it. There are two months of spring left, but you’re already looking forward to firing up the grill and inviting friends and family over for that first summer barbecue. At The Outdoor Appliance Store, summer is our favorite time of year, and now is the time to find your new outdoor grill for the season! We have a fantastic selection to choose from, including grills from Twin Eagles, Challenger, Memphis, and more.

That First Barbecue Of The Year

There’s nothing better than firing up the grill for the first barbecue of the year, especially if you’ve been sitting inside all winter as the snow falls and the wind blows. You might be able to grill during the spring, but if your area gets a lot of rain, the only way you can cook outside on the weekends is if you have a covered outdoor kitchen; otherwise, you’ll have to leave the cover on the grill and the tongs in the kitchen drawer.

Once the weather clears and the sun is shining, your first priority is making sure that the grill is working properly. Check the propane tank or the gas line to ensure that you have the fuel you need, or if you have a pellet grill, that you have plenty of pellets for the upcoming summer. If your grill is a bit outdated, or you want to switch from charcoal to gas, then we can help you find the perfect option in our store.

          Grilling For A Large Group

Summer is the perfect time for get-together’s and reunions, and your house might be the prime spot for hosting these events. You have the biggest backyard, and your outdoor kitchen is the envy of all your friends and family. If you’re going to be grilling for a large group, then it’s important to have enough surface area to hold all of the food you need to cook. The kids may want hot dogs, while your in-laws want burgers, and with a bigger grill, you can cook everything at once and make sure everyone is happy. We have grills with plenty of cooking surface area, as well as side burners and searing zones where you can cook your veggies and other side dishes while the burgers and brats are grilled to perfection.

Summer grilling season is almost here, and the team at The Outdoor Appliance Store is ready to help you find your new grill and outdoor accessories. If you’re building a new outdoor space, or you simply want to upgrade your cooking experience, we can provide you with amazing options that you’ll use for years to come. You can have the baseball game playing on the patio while the kids swim in the pool, and you’ll know that your new grill is taking care of lunch or dinner for everyone.
